About Professional Child Care

Hi, my name is Angie McCall-Crow. I am currently a wife to a wonderful husband of 14 years, and a mother of 3 beautiful children.

I have over 12 years experience in the Early Childhood Education field. My passion for working with children began as I was attending the University here in my home town of Bakersfield. Throughout my college years I worked as a preschool teacher for Mercy Child Care, KCEOC Head Start, and after graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in Child Development I was employed by a Child Development Center in South Lake Tahoe.

After 6 years of preschool teaching experience and the birth of my first child, I realized I needed the independence of having my own business that offered me the flexibility to be with my growing family.

I received my license for daycare in December of 1997. Although I have retired my childcare doors, I will be forever greatful for the time I had to be with my own children as they grew. After 10 years of business I was fortunate enough to create my own schedule. My priority with my children gave me the chance to see their first steps, hear their first words, and be the ONE to introduce the 1^st of many things to them for the 1^st time. What meant the most to me was seeing their shiny little faces as they woke after a good nights sleep.

Many years ago, I was asked by a prior co-worker to conduct workshops to newly licensed providers on How To Manage their Child Care business. After many successful workshops I realized that there were many people interested in what I had to offer, because I had hands on experience directly related to the child care field. I began advertising and teaching at the Conferences in my county and thus, the development of PROFESSIONAL CHILD CARE-Resources for Professional Child care providers-directly written specifically with the family child care provider in mind.

After a successful decade of managing my profitable business, it was time to close the doors and move on as life seems to do. My passion here is help those of you out there who are still learning the ropes of your business, to help guide you through what to expect from a business such as family daycare.
